Bratislava, November 15 (TASR) - The passing of Professor Pavel Traubner is a great loss for Slovak health care as well as for society as a whole, President Peter Pellegrini posted on a social network on Friday. The head of state highlighted the professional and human greatness of the deceased, pointing to his life story marked by the traumas of the Second World War. "Perhaps it was from this sad period of time that he was left with an indomitable will to live and to face his fate, however difficult or unjust it might be," he stressed, praising Traubner's willingness to help, but also his fearlessness to stand up to the hate of radicalism. "He always stood unequivocally on the side of humanism and tolerance," pointed out Pellegrini, expressing his sincere condolences to the bereaved family. Professor Pavel Traubner died at the age of 83 in Bratislava before midnight on Thursday (November 14), reported the Central Association of Jewish Religious Communities (UZZNO), of which Traubner was the honorary chairman. am/df
