Bratislava, November 15 (TASR) - The criminal case regarding the attempt to assassinate Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) is still in the preliminary proceedings stage, with the investigation progressing smoothly, although its completion depends on several factors and no date for this can be determined yet, TASR learnt from Prosecutor-General's Office spokeswoman Jana Tokolyova on Friday. Partial details of procedural actions beyond what has already been made public cannot be disclosed at this time, as doing so would not be only inappropriate but also harmful to the objectives of the criminal proceedings, the spokesperson stated, adding that further details will be announced when the procedural situation allows. In this context, the Interior Ministry confirmed that following the attempt to assassinate the premier, the Office for the Protection of Constitutional Officials and Diplomatic Missions took a number of measures, but it is not yet in a position to specify them due to the ongoing investigation. The prime minister was shot following an away-from-home cabinet meeting in Handlova (Trencin region) on May 15. Several shots were fired at the scene, and the attacker was detained. Fico was in a life-threatening condition for some time. Friday, November 15, marks six months since the attempt on the premier's life took place. tl/df/am
