Bratislava, November 18 (TASR) - The number of new orders in Slovak industry recorded year-on-year growth of 2.2 percent to reach a value of €5.95 billion in September, the second instance of growth this year and one that came on the heels of four consecutive months of y-o-y declines, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. After seasonal adjustment, new orders in industry went up by 1.1 percent month-on-month in September. Y-o-y increases were recorded in five of the 12 monitored industrial segments. "Orders went up mainly in the production of chemicals and chemical products, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations as well as in the production of motor vehicles and trailers," stated the Statistics Office. Conversely, there were fewer orders y-o-y particularly in the production of other transport vehicles, clothes and the production of metal structures. mf/df
