Poll: PS Would Have Won Election, with Smer Close Runner-up in Early November

Bratislava, November 18 (TASR) - If a parliamentary election had been held in early November, it would have been won by the opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) on 22.6 percent of votes, followed closely by Smer-SD on 21.9 percent, according to a poll conducted by Focus agency on behalf of 360tka.sk.
Also making it into parliament would have been Voice-SD (13.3 percent), Republic (8.6 percent), Freedom and Solidarity (SaS - 6.7 percent) and the Chrisitan Democrates (KDH - 6.2 percent).
Parties failing to make it past the 5-percent election threshold would have included the Hungarian Alliance (4.8 percent), Democrats (4.6 percent), the Slovak National Party (SNS) and Slovakia party (both 3.6 percent) and We Are Family (3.3 percent).
Based on the polls, PS would have garnered 43 seats in Parliament, followed by Smer-SD - 41, Voice-SD - 25, Republic - 16, SaS - 13 and KDH - 12.
The poll was carried out in November 6-13 on a sample of 1,018 respondents.
