Bratislava, November 18 (TASR) - The police are set to launch a pilot project of police body cameras in Bratislava and Kosice in December, police chief Lubomir Solak reported on Monday. According to Solak, the cameras will both document police interventions and protect police officers, explaining that it'll be possible to use sound and video footage to corroborate officers' claims after interventions. The police chief stated that the police are analysing all cases in recent years when police interventions have led to injuries or even deaths. "We would like to complete an analysis of what preceded these actions by police officers," he remarked. Addressing the prevention of such cases, Solak mentioned regular psychological examinations and the need for good communication between superiors and subordinates. The intensity of inspection activities and retraining of police officers will also be adjusted, he added. zel/mcs
