Pilot Project for Police Body Cameras to Involve 16 Cams

Bratislava, November 19 (TASR) - The prepared pilot project for police body cameras will involve a total of 16 cameras, of which six will be deployed in Bratislava and ten in Kosice, the Police Corps has reported. The Police Corps intends to train officers to use the devices. "Our aim is to equip all regional police headquarters with body cameras as soon as possible," said the police presidium. Police chief Lubomir Solak reported on Monday that the pilot project is set to be launched on December 1. The measure was introduced after a Kosice police officer beat a detainee to death in early November. zel/df
