Krajci: Health Ministry Blunders Talks with LOZ by Not Inviting Finance Ministry

Bratislava, November 19 (TASR) - The Health Ministry is making a mistake by holding talks with doctor unionists without the presence of representatives from the Finance Ministry, ex-health minister (2020-21) and MP Marek Krajci (Slovakia-For the People-KU) declared at a press conference on Tuesday. "The Health Ministry needs to take action promptly in this situation and with expertise. What happened in the past days was anything but, however. They've been making needless mistakes in their talks with representatives of the doctors. We had the same situation here two years ago and a lesson should have been drawn from it. We fail to understand why they didn't invite the Finance Ministry to a crucial meeting that revolved around contracts between insurers and hospitals," said Krajci. Krajci also drew attention to a reform aimed to introduce maximum waiting times for certain surgeries. Originally the reform was supposed to be launched this year already, but the Government postponed it by another year. mf
