SaS Wants Sakova to Unveil Details of Energy Aid for Households

Kosice/Bratislava, November 22 (TASR) - Opposition SaS party submitted a resolution to Parliament aimed at binding Economy Minister Denisa Sakova (Voice-SD) to unveil a specific 2025 plan of energy aid for Slovak households, SaS MP Karol Galek stated at a press conference held in Kosice on Friday.
"Even coalition legislators must have an interest to explain and answer questions raised by their voters as to what heating and gas price hikes await the households next year," said Galek, adding that the households need time to prepare in advance.
SaS finds it unacceptable that Sakova still hasn't released any plan for energy aid. "Thus, the people are supposed to learn details about it only 16 days before the end of the year. The only thing we know about next year's energy prices is that electricity won't go up by virtue of the deal negotiated by SaS back in 2022. On the other hand, head of the Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (URSO) Jozef Holjencik reported that prices for gas and heating will swell," claimed Galek.
The opposition party also spoke against across-the-board aid, pointing out that such a scheme would be inefficient and unjust.
