Bratislava, November 25 (TASR) - The Justice Ministry is preparing comprehensive legislation in cooperation with the Labour Ministry and NGOs, experienced with helping abused women, to set up intervention centres and shelters for women facing violence, TASR learnt from the Justice Ministry press department on Monday.
The Justice Ministry responded this way to a call addressed to it earlier in the day by Progressive Slovakia (PS) party.
The next meeting with representatives of the Labour Ministry and NGOs is slated for January 2025.
"The calls for intervention centre projects are to be published in the foreseeable future. It was necessary to draft new contracts in accordance with the current legislation first," stated the ministry. In addition, it is also preparing a call for human rights projects. "Every woman matters and the Justice Ministry is prepared, within the scope of its powers, to extend aid and protection to women who need help," claimed the ministry.
