Bratislava, November 25 (TASR) - The Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) stated on Monday that it condemns violence against women, pointing out that domestic violence is a silent epidemic that destroys lives and society, party's communication department told TASR on the same day on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. "Sadly, the boundaries of what is acceptable are constantly shifting. The vulgarisation of the public space, hate speech and the normalisation of aggression only contribute to this development. Let us therefore be more mindful and not allow violence and hatred to gain a place in our society. Over the last six years, women have accounted for up to 86 percent of the victims of the crime of abuse of a close person in Slovakia, and during this time up to 52 women have been murdered by their partners," said MP Andrea Turcanova. am/mcs
