Charges Pressed in Case of 1999 Mafia Bloodbath in Dunajska Streda Bar

Trnava, November 26 (TASR) - The Trnava region prosecutor's office has pressed charges against two individuals who have been accused in a case concerning the murder of ten people by the mafia in a bar called Fontana in Dunajska Streda in 1999, TASR learnt on Tuesday. Both individuals, identified only as A. U. and R. V., are facing charges concerning murder. The bloodbath took place on March 25, 1999, when three men disguised as police officers entered the bar and shot dead ten people in a matter of a few minutes. The victims were members of the rival Papay gang, who frequented the bar, including boss Tibor Papay, considered the most brutal mafioso in the country. A total of nine victims died at the scene, with the last one succumbing in hospital on the following day. zel/df
