House: MPs Fail to Open Last Session of 2025 on First Attempt
dnes 15:35
Bratislava, November 26 (TASR) - MPs on Tuesday afternoon failed to open the House session on their first attempt, as only 75 out of the required 76 MPs presented themselves in the chamber.
House Vice-chair Peter Ziga (Voice-SD) announced a 15-minute recess, therefore. After the recess, a quorum was reached and the session was successfully opened. MP Lubomir Vazny (Smer-SD) didn't present himself on the first attempt. He apologised to the others and stated that he was misled by a colleague. At the same time, Vazny noted that it will be impossible to govern in the long term with only 76 MPs.
Following the recent departure of three MPs Rudolf Huliak, Pavel Luptak and Ivan Sevcik from the SNS caucus, the coalition officially has 76 MPs, which is a narrow majority. The three Independents MPs announced that they wouldn't support the opening of the session on Tuesday.
