Stats: Industrial Producer Prices Down 10.8 percent Y-o-Y in October

Bratislava, November 27 (TASR) - Industrial producer prices for the domestic market decreased by 10.8 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in October, falling by 2 percent in monthly terms, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. Eight of the 16 monitored branches of industry posted falls in prices in October. The overall result was mainly influenced by a two-digit drops in producer prices in the energy sector (23 percent) and in the processing of oil products (almost 26 percent). Prices in the production of means of transport fell by 3 percent, the biggest drop seen this year. Conversely, producer prices of water supplies grew by 10.7 percent, while those of rubber and plastics rose by 3.2 percent. Prices in the production of metals went up slightly as well, recording growth for the first time in 21 months. In the first ten months of the year, industrial producer prices for the domestic market decreased by 10.6 percent y-o-y. Prices of industrial products for export in October were 0.6 percent lower than the year before, while they rose by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis.
