Bratislava, November 27 (TASR) - I'll submit a resolution on the transformation of state hospitals into joint-stock companies to the next cabinet meeting, which the Medical Trade Union Association (LOZ) insists on, Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) said following the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, adding that he'll also submit material on the setting up of a monitoring group that will check the fulfilment of the memorandum concluded between the government and the medical trade unions. Minister rejects the view that the government perceives the situation in the sector "somehow carelessly". "This is the third time I've very consistently briefed all members of the government, including the premier [Robert Fico (Smer-SD)], on the current situation," he emphasised. The health minister declared that he'll submit two materials to next week's government meeting. The first is a resolution to oblige the government not to transform state hospitals into joint stock companies. "I promised Doctor Visolajsky yesterday [November 26], or we agreed, that I'll bring this request to the government and I can confirm that next week such a resolution will be adopted," he stated, adding that he also wants to submit material to the government meeting on the formation of a monitoring committee to oversee the implementation of the points of the memorandum. Sasko confirmed that he and LOZ had gone over all the points of the memorandum in their joint negotiations. "There are many areas that have been fulfilled and objectively there are also areas that require further work," he said, adding that it is especially the first point concerning the stopping of hospitals' running into debt and increasing their efficiency. am/mcs
