Parliament: State Can Issue Special Bonds for Citizens as of Next Year

dnes 12:01
Bratislava, November 28 (TASR) - A new category of bonds, government bonds for citizens, will be created as of next year and will be exempt from taxes and fees, Parliament has decided by approving an amending proposal to the amendment to the compensatory tax law on Thursday. The goal is to increase public interest in investment. "All fees for acquiring government bonds for citizens by private individuals on the primary market are zero," stated the proposal's submitters. No fees will be charged for setting up, managing or cancelling accounts in which these bonds will be kept. In line with the amending proposal, interest and capital yields from government bonds for citizens won't be subject to taxation. No levies to health-insurance funds will be paid, either. The approved changes will take effect as of January 1, 2025. ko/df
