dnes 13:01
Bratislava, November 28 (TASR) - Parliament on Thursday approved the termination of a treaty on the prevention of dual citizenship concluded in 1980 between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Soviet Union. At the same time, it approved the termination of a more than 60-year-old convention regulating certain citizenship issues between the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Hungarian People's Republic. The documents prevented children born to a citizen of Hungary or Russia who were citizens of Slovakia from adopting both citizenships. The Interior Ministry stated that is in violation of the Slovak Constitution. The termination of the agreements still have to be okayed by the president. zel/df
