Foreign Affairs Ministry Praises Creative Artist Jan Zoricak in Geneva

Bratislava/Geneva, November 29 (TASR) - Foreign Affairs Ministry State Secretary Marek Estok presented Slovak artist Jan Zoricak with the gold Memorial Medal of the Foreign Affairs Minister in Geneva on Wednesday (November 27), TASR has learnt from the ministry's communications department. The ministry praised Zoricak's lifelong work and his contribution to presenting Slovakia abroad. At a ceremonial event held on the premises of Slovakia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Estok highlighted the work of this academic sculptor, creative artist and artistic glassblower, which contributes significantly to giving Slovakia a good name abroad. "Jan Zoricak has managed to bring Slovak glass sculptures onto the world scene, where it's achieved a level alongside the most important works of contemporary fine art. With his work, he represents the most valuable thing we have - the wealth of our culture, our identity and creativity, through which we are able to speak to the world," stated Estok. Zoricak has exhibited his pieces of art in prestigious galleries and museums around the world. His works are included in the collections of institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. ko/df
