Kezmarok, November 29 (TASR) - An amount of €177 million from the recovery and resilience plan will be spent on improving digital public services, as announced at Friday's press conference in Kezmarok (Presov region) by the Vice-Premier Peter Kmec (Voice-SD).
"In those areas where it was previously necessary to go to offices in search of documents, now it will be possible to do everything electronically," explained Investment Minister Richard Rasi (Voice-SD), adding that individual measures will be gradually adopted by the first half of 2026. He pointed to the fact that many people need to obtain various documents and certificates, for various reasons, however, the state can provide this information in a much simplified manner.
Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) stated the House has approved the electronic wallet and from January 1, 2025, people will be able to have their ID and driving licence in a mobile application. Gradually, other documents will be added. Among other future changes, the minister mentioned that birth certificates will be processed faster, the change of permanent residence and conclusion of marriage will be easier, etc. The minister noted that the electronic data verification for the purchase and sale of cars has been approved in Parliament.
The ministers from the Voice-SD party also presented 16 specific so-called life situations that people can deal with electronically, with the aim of removing bureaucracy from individual processes, including notification of the birth of a child, illness, retirement, loss of employment or death. The Health Ministry is also developing an electronic pregnancy booklet.
