Taraba Signed Memorandum of Cooperation with Faculty of Natural Sciences

Bratislava, November 30 (TASR) - Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) signed a memorandum on cooperation with Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University in Bratislava Peter Fedor in order to deepen cooperation with university scientists in the field of research, scientific and teacher training education, vocational training and other scientific research and educational activities related primarily to the protection and use of nature and the landscape, as well as the formation of the environment, TASR was told by the Environment Ministry's communication department. Scientists and professional dialogue were squeezed out in key decisions during the previous leadership, according to Taraba. "Today, we're correcting the consequences of the incompetence of my predecessors, due to whom Slovakia hasn't finished building basic water infrastructure, doesn't have sufficient capacity for the removal of environmental burdens, and disposal or recovery of waste," noted the minister. In the memorandum, Taraba and Fedor expressed their common interest and willingness to cooperate in educational, scientific research and promotional activities as well as in the preparation of expert analyses with the aim of strengthening and improving the protection of nature and the environment. am/mcs
