Munko: Opposition Has Already Had Opportunity to Debate Sutaj Estok's Ouster

Bratislava, December 2 (TASR) - The opposition has already had an opportunity to discuss a no-confidence motion in Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) for twelve hours and could have already said everything it has to say on the topic in that time, MP Dusan Munko (Smer-SD member/SNS caucus) declared on Monday. "Practically speaking, they're just politicking. We need to pass the budget and there are also other matters we need to take care of," said Munko. MP Michal Bartek (Voice-SD) pointed out that one of the motions to oust the Interior Minister will be deliberated on in February 2025, and so, in his view, the opposition shouldn't attempt to "obstruct" a session that it convened itself. "Our voters haven't given us a mandate only to have the opposition run roughshod over us," stated Bartek. Parliament failed to convene an emergency special session on the ouster of the Interior Minister for the second time on Monday, due to the House lacking a quorum. The session has been rescheduled for Tuesday (December 3). mf/df
