Bratislava, December 2 (TASR) - The Economy Ministry will prepare a final calculation of potential measures to compensate for the increase in energy prices in 2025 and submit it to the Coalition Council, the Economy Ministry said on Monday in reaction to the regulated energy prices, published by the Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (URSO). Particular compensation measures and energy prices for households will then be decided by the government. "Prices of energy, chiefly gas, are one of the government's priorities. As we have repeatedly declared, our goal is to ensure that energy prices remain affordable for our citizens in the upcoming year. Concerning electricity, we have already managed to do so. Concerning gas and heat supplies for households, we are ready and based on some price decisions issued by the URSO, we have already informed all gas suppliers about the next steps and the prepared compensation options that will be submitted to the government session," said Economy Minister Denisa Sakova. After the URSO issues its final decisions, the government will take all the necessary steps to ensure particular help for households so that they are not affected by the disproportionate increase in energy prices. In line with the decision announced by the URSO earlier on Monday, gas prices should increase by 14.6-33.8 percent year-on-year in 2025. ko/mcs
