Bratislava, December 4 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini left for a one-day visit to Latvia on Wednesday morning where he will meet Slovak soldiers serving at a military base in Adazi as part of NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence mission, TASR has learnt from the President's Office press department.
"The Slovak president is also slated to meet Latvian head of state Edgars Rinkevics. The two presidents should discuss Slovak-Latvian ties, a pivotal moment of which came when the Slovak military contingent was sent to Latvia in 2017," stated the President's Office.
The president's visit to the soldiers will include the element of a farewell to currently serving artillerymen, who are set to be replaced by military chemists as of the new year.
