MFA: Blanar to Leave for OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting in Malta on Wednesday

Bratislava/Brussels, December 4 (TASR) - Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) will leave Brussels for Malta on Wednesday, where he is slated to take part in an OSCE Ministerial Council meeting, the Foreign Affairs Ministry's communications department has informed TASR. The annual meeting of the heads of diplomacy of the OSCE countries will be chaired by the Vice-premier and Foreign Affairs Minister of Malta, Ian Borg, in the post of acting OSCE chair. "The OSCE Deputy-Secretary General Kate Fearon and OSCE Parliamentary Assembly chair Pia Kauma will also address the participants at the meeting," said the ministry. Blanar's working agenda will start on Wednesday evening with an informal meeting of the heads of delegations of OSCE member and partner countries. Security challenges in the OSCE area with an emphasis on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine will be high on the agenda, and the ministers will also discuss the issue at the first two plenary session due to take place on Thursday (December 5). Blanar will hold several bilateral meetings with OSCE foreign affairs minister on the sidelines of his stay in Malta. ko/df
