Bratislava, December 4 (TASR) - Parliamentary Vice-Chair Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS) has received preliminary approval for his working trip to Russia from Parliamentary Vice-chair, who has been entrusted with the powers of the House Chair Peter Ziga (Voice-SD), the Parliament Office's communications department told TASR on Wednesday, adding that the exact date of the trip hasn't been set yet.
According to the communications department, the trip is currently being finalised. "At this time, the necessary details are being completed and fine-tuned, including the exact date of the trip, the specific programme and the composition of the delegation, including MPs," it added.
Ziga also contacted the Foreign Affairs Ministry, which doesn't consider the visit to Russia to be problematic, according to the communications department.
Danko asked in November the acting House chair for approval for a foreign working trip to Russia in January 2025. Danko wants to pay for the journey out of his own money. The SNS leader has an official invitation from the Russian State Duma chairman to visit Russia. High on the agenda of the meeting is to be mainly the supply of energy resources "with a view to helping Slovakia, especially in winter".
