Bratislava, December 8 (TASR) - Parliament is likely to deliberate on new Rules of Procedure in early 2025, TASR has learnt from House Vice-chair Tibor Gaspar (Smer-SD).
Gaspar added that a working group for drafting the new rules has been formed and already met several times.
"We're sitting together with the opposition. It seems thus far that we'll arrive at a deal on everything we discussed," Gaspar told the journalists. Among items discussed was also the shortening of time limits for MP speeches. "A definitive consensus on that one hasn't been reached yet. We talked about shortening the allocated time for lawmaker speeches registered in writing from 20 to 15 minutes, for example."
Another item in the pipes is the code of ethics. "We'd like to have it passed, so as to ban the drinking of alcohol in Parliament, for instance."
