Bratislava, December 10 (TASR) - Most of the updated demands of the Medical Trade Union Association (LOZ) have been fulfilled or are being addressed, Health Ministry State Secretary Michal Stofko said after the joint meeting on Tuesday.
"There are points we need to go over with Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD). ... We know that we have little time, but we've tried to be constructive. I think that we also declared to the gentlemen from the LOZ that some points require more time and discussion and cannot be dealt with under pressure," said Stofko. Nevertheless, according to him, they are trying to come to an agreement in order to ensure everything without the need to declare an emergency situation in the health sector.
LOZ head Peter Visolajsky stated that they're doing their best to reach an agreement with the Health Ministry before the Christmas holidays. According to him, the solutions they've proposed are a "precursor" to an agreement. "We've gone over the points, we've discussed some of them and we've found consensus on several things, but it's up to the [health] minister [Kamil Sasko] and the government," said Visolajsky, adding that they've found a compromise on about 50-60 percent of things.
