Voice-SD: Coalition Disputes Stem from Disrespect for Coalition Agreement

Bratislava, December 14 (TASR) - If Slovak National Party (SNS) leader Andrej Danko won't respect the coalition agreement, he will send a signal to the coalition that agreements don't need to be respected, reads Voice-SD's statement sent to TASR by the party's press department in reaction to remarks made by Danko earlier on Saturday.
"The main reason for the disputes within the governing coalition is the open disregard for the basic rules outlined in the coalition agreement. Unless the SNS chairman returns to consistently respecting these rules, he will send a signal to every single coalition MP that the agreements do not have to be respected and that everyone has a right to decide which commitments to respect and which to ignore," the Voice-SD party stressed in its statement.
According to the party, Danko fell for the opposition's trap during Saturday's discussion programme 'Sobotne dialogy' (Saturday Dialogues), giving useless space for his excessive emotions in some of his responses. "The Christmas holidays are approaching, we are in the Advent season, and it's time for us not to burden the public with unnecessary political games and statements, at least during this period," said the Voice-SD party.
SNS leader Andrej Danko stated on Saturday that behind the rebellion of the Voice-SD MPs and independent MPs around Rudolf Huliak is the president, for whom a caretaker government would be convenient. He also mentioned the relationship between Pellegrini and Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD), which, according to him, is still bad. Danko doesn't believe there will be an early general election, however, he sees the alternative of a caretaker government as more realistic. He talked about the Voice-SD strategy, which is heading towards a caretaker government.
