Sutaj Estok: Let's Not Expect Stability without Respect for Coalition Agreement

(STVR, 'O 5 minut 12', December 15) The coalition agreement must first of all be respected for the sake of the functioning and stability of the coalition, Interior Minister and Voice-SD leader Matus Sutaj Estok said on STVR's discussion programme 'O 5 minut 12' (Five Minutes to Twelve) on Sunday, adding that if a coalition partner doesn't respect it, he leads other coalition members by example. "Let's not expect stability without respect for the coalition agreement," said the Voice-SD leader, adding that the coalition stands and falls on the agreement. According to him, Voice-SD MPs also need a guarantee from the coalition partners that this government has no alternative, and not behave as if it had one. "The governing coalition is subject to slow disintegration, everyone argues with everyone there," stated his opponent on the show, KDH (Christian Democrats) leader Milan Majersky, adding that KDH is an alternative that might come after this government. Sutaj Estok doesn't like it when Voice-SD MPs disrespect the coalition agreement, but Slovak National Party (SNS) leader Andrej Danko sends signals to them by not respecting it either, for example, during the election of the House chair. Once the issue of the House chair is resolved, all the MPs will realise that the coalition agreement must be respected, said Sutaj Estok. "If the coalition is to last three more years, it needs to have 79 MPs," he stressed. Sutaj Estok doesn't have an ambition to be the House chair. He wants to remain in the post of the Voice-SD leader and the interior minister, explaining it by the need to address a plenty of security risks. Sutaj Estok keeps on proposing Voice-SD vice-chair Richard Rasi for the post. However, Majersky said he cannot imagine that KDH would support Rasi as House chair. Sutaj Estok labelled Danko's statements about a caretaker government an absolute nonsense, adding that Danko fell for the opposition's trap. Majersky is surprised that Danko calls on KDH and asks it for support always when the coalition lacks a majority. ko
