AOPP Hopes Agreement Will Be Reached between LOZ and Government

Bratislava, December 16 (TASR) - The Association for the Protection of Patients' Rights (AOPP) hopes that an agreement will eventually be reached between the government and the Medical Trade Union Association (LOZ) and that the approved legislation related to ensuring that health care is accessible won't be used, AOPP head Maria Levyova told TASR on Monday. "Any such solution, even if it is legal, tends to be controversial. For those who are healthy, it may come across as a very violent move encroaching on the rights of doctors," she said, adding that if any government did nothing in such a situation and there were a threat to life and health, public opinion would again turn against the government and against doctors, including those who hadn't submitted resignation notices. am/df
