SaS: Premier's Claim of Conflict of Interest Excuse, Let Him Admit Failure

Bratislava, December 17 (TASR) - Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) is making things up when he speaks about the situation in the health-care sector, stated MP and Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) leader Branislav Groehling on Tuesday, claiming that Fico has no conflict of interest, the coalition can't govern, and the premier should stop making excuses, admit his failure and step down.
"They [coalition MPs] are arguing. They cannot keep the promises that they made to the public, and they can't secure a better life in Slovakia. The first health-care reform that Fico's government has come up with in 13 years is to send doctors to jail," stated Groehling in a social media post.
"He [Fico] says that he won't address doctors' resignations because he would be in a conflict of interest. Recently, he was still claiming that he wasn't going to deal with this because health care is not a prime-ministerial issue," added the SaS leader.
Groehling asked whether the premier had a conflict of interest when the coalition reduced the sentences of criminals and people close to Smer-SD got off scot-free, or when the government approved sending doctors to jail and cancelled the memorandum on salary increases in the health-care sector.
The premier stated earlier in the day that it's up to Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD), to address the situation in the health-care sector in connection with doctors' resignation notices. He stressed he is in a deep conflict of interest when it comes to the issue of health-care workers because they saved his life following the assassination attempt on him in May.
