Premier to Attend Last European Council Summit of Year in Brussels

Bratislava, December 18 (TASR) - Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) is set to depart for Brussels on Wednesday to attend the EU-Western Balkans summit, with the main topic of the meeting being the European prospects of the Western Balkan countries, TASR has learnt from the the Government Office's press and information department. The last European Council meeting of the year will take place on Thursday (December 19) in Brussels, where EU leaders will discuss Ukraine, the Middle East, strengthening the EU's role in the world, migration and the Union's resilience, level of preparation and capacity to prevent and respond to crises. The summits will be chaired for the first time by the new President of the European Council, Antonio Costa. lin/df
