Bratislava, December 19 (TASR) - MP Veronika Remisova ('Slovakia'-For the People-KU coalition) will file a complaint with the Public Procurement Authority and the Prosecutor-General, claiming that a company owned by one of Voice-SD's sponsors concluded a contract with the Slovak Museum of Mining under the auspices of the Environment Ministry and received the full sum for reconstructing the museum's building even before conducting any work, TASR learnt on Thursday.
Remisova suspects that this might constitute the crime of misuse of public official's powers.
Remisova also objects to the decision to postpone the date of completion by six months. She pointed out that the company ended up last, in fourth place, in the public tender for the reconstruction work held in September. However, the tender was scrapped and launched anew. "This time, we learnt in late November that the only final bidder, who, of course, won the tender, is the very company owned by Voice-SD's sponsors, the one which originally ended up last with the most expensive bid," stressed Remisova.
As a result, whereas the original tender winner was supposed to carry out the reconstruction work for €94,000, the new winner will do it for about €150,000. Remisova also finds it noteworthy that up to 75 percent of the work is to be carried out by a completely different company, listed in the contract as a sub-supplier.
