Bratislava, December 19 (TASR) - The Slovak Museum of Mining perceives accusations made by MP Veronika Remisova (Slovakia-KU-For the People coalition) regarding a public tender for the reconstruction of the Klopacka cultural monument (NKP) in Banska Stiavnica (Banska Bystrica region) as nothing but an attempt to draw the media spotlight, TASR learnt on Thursday.
The museum added that it ordered an independent assessment of NKP's structural integrity, which revealed that the building is in a worse state of disrepair than previously thought. Because of this, the museum launched a new public tender, which was won by a bidder with the best bid in terms of quality and price.
"When launching the tender, the Slovak Museum of Mining complied with the law, with the terms of the tender being transparent, announced in advance and open. The museum is prepared to provide both the supervisory bodies and law enforcement with its full cooperation in this regard," said SBM director Peter Zorvan.
Earlier in the day, Remisova announced her decision to file a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor-General and the Public Procurement Authority over her suspicion that the successful bidder, a company owned by Voice-SD's sponsor, won the competition in a non-transparent manner.
