KHD: Employees of Food Administration Threatening to Go on Strike

Bratislava, December 20 (TASR) - Employees of regional veterinarian and food administrations are threatening to go on a full strike, as they're unhappy with their working conditions, remuneration and organisational changes introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, opposition KDH party MP Marian Caucik warned on Friday. "Employees of the regional veterinarian and food administrations are unhappy with their working conditions, remuneration and organisational changes. Because of this, we're calling on minister [Richard] Takac (Smer-SD) to take action and to prevent this threat from materialising into a full-blown strike," said Caucik. The lawmaker warned that such a strike could severely disrupt the system of food checks and thus endanger the safety and health of Slovaks. "In addition, it could cause considerable damage to the food sector," added Caucik. mf/df
