Bratislava, December 20 (TASR) - The Slovak Defence Ministry has joined the Czech Republic in purchasing Tatra trucks, with Slovakia interested in buying 250 flatbed trucks with 6x6 drive, the ministry's press department informed TASR on Friday. "The agreement was signed on Friday by Martin Catlos, the general director of the Slovak Defence Ministry's Modernisation Section on behalf of Slovakia, while Lubor Koudelka, the top director of the Czech Defence Ministry's Armaments and Acquisitions Section signed it on behalf of the Czech Republic and Martin Sekanina, authorised representative of Tatra Defence Systems, on behalf of the company," said the ministry. A Czech agreement enables other NATO members to join it in acquisitions like this, with Slovakia the first to do so. The Slovak ministry claims that the joint purchase will be more efficient and cheaper for both countries. ko/df
