Bratislava, December 25 (TASR) - The Slovak Catholic Charity (SKCH) helped to implement almost 86,000 specific activities for 7,300 refugees from Ukraine in 2024. "These included language courses, psychological support and various integration and educational activities," TASR has learnt from SKCH representatives. The organisation can help refugees through the support of the Swiss government and the Rapid Response Fund project. "The aid we provided was not just about one-off support, but about creating long-term solutions," stated Alexandra Mruk Papaianopol, the head of Humanitarian Aid and Integration in Slovakia. "Our goal is for Slovakia to become a safe and welcoming place for all those who had to leave their homes," she added. The Slovak Catholic Charity operates a network of support centres for refugees in Slovakia, providing humanitarian aid, language and professional courses, psychological help, as well as workshops and leisure activities in them. ko
