President to Entertain Visit to Ukraine, Will Wait for Outcome of Gas Talks

Bratislava, December 27 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini entertains a visit to Ukraine, but will wait for the outcome of negotiations on the transit of gas to Slovakia first. "I say quite openly that I'll also wait for the outcome of the negotiations on the transit of gas and other talks between Ukraine and Slovakia as well as developments in the military conflict in the next weeks and months. Then, next year, we will consider my potential visit to Ukraine," Pellegrini told TASR in an interview. Pellegrini pointed out that since his inauguration this year he has met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy twice. The two heads of state had bilateral talks, although not in Ukraine. mf/mcs
