President Pellegrini Has Been Promoting Peace Talks in Bratislava For Long Time

Bratislava, December 27 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini claims that he's been proposing the idea of holding a peace summit in Bratislava to end the war between Russia and Ukraine for some time, TASR was told by the President's Office press department on Friday. "The President has been advocating the idea of holding the Russian-Ukrainian summit in Bratislava in his public speeches for a long time already," stated the press department. On Thursday (December 26), Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Slovakia is ready to host talks between Russia and Ukraine, with Moscow not opposed to having Bratislava as the venue for such negotiations. According to Putin, it was Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD), who, during his recent visit to Moscow offered the land of his country as a venue for talks between Moscow and Kiev. Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) declared that Slovak diplomacy is prepared to actively contribute towards the peace process between Russia and Ukraine. mf/mcs
