Ziga: Voice-SD Stabilised, Has Become Self-confident Party

Bratislava, December 30 (TASR) - The coalition Voice-SD party is a self-confident one and has stabilised in terms of election support polls, Peter Ziga, a member of the party presidium and parliamentary vice-chair, entrusted with the powers of the House chair, has told TASR.
Ziga disagrees with the claim that the Voice-SD and Smer-SD parties are getting closer to each other and is satisfied with the work of party leader Matus Sutaj Estok. He admits that he has a different view of politics from his predecessor, Peter Pellegrini, the founder of Voice-SD, who moved to the Presidential Palace.
Ziga rejects claims that Sutaj Estok is a "spokesman" for Prime Minister and Smer-SD chief Robert Fico. "I think Voice is a self-confident, still relatively young party, we are 4.5 years old. Matus has been part of the team, which was created in 2020, from the beginning, and the proposal that he should become the chairman was unanimously agreed by the entire leadership of the Voice party. He won over an overwhelming majority of Voice at the congress at which he was elected," said Ziga in an interview with TASR, adding that Pellegrini, who founded Voice-SD, had a different view of engaging in politics, as he had been in politics for 20 years and had gradually gone through all the stages of managing it.
"Matus is still a young politician who hasn't been in politics for that long and has his own view of how to address things, and this whole thing still needs to settle down," opined Ziga. "It is quite natural that when the leader changes, the party also has to get used to the new leader. This is what is happening in Voice at the moment, and I think that we're moving in a good direction," he stated, adding that he can't imagine a change of leader in the party. "That question isn't on the table at all," he stressed.
