Bratislava, January 7 (TASR) - Within the framework of opposition cooperation, the Progressive Slovakia (PS) party can find consensus with the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) on key values, such as the rule of law, PS leader Michal Simecka has stated in an interview with TASR, adding he doesn't see any signs of "pact-forming" between KDH and Smer-SD.
Simecka considers the relationship with KDH in Parliament to be very good. "That is why we've jointly organised public rallies and other initiatives in defence of the Special Prosecutor's Office and against the amendment to the criminal codes," he said. "Where we agree - on the pillars of values and democracy - we can cooperate very well. This also concerns freedom of the media, freedom of speech and foreign policy orientation, justice as a whole," he added.
However, the PS leader also acknowledged differences between the parties. "It goes without saying that there are things on which we'll never find agreement because KDH is a conservative movement and Progressive Slovakia is a liberal one. And that is normal, it's healthy in a democracy, that is how it should be, so people can choose," he said.
