Bratislava, January 7 (TASR) - The Government Office will provide only the necessary information about my work programme, Prime Minister Robert Fico's (Smer-SD) stated in a video posted on a social network, adding that it won't inform about his private agenda.
The premier spoke about the fear of another assassination attempt on his person or about the fear of disruption of planned events by opposition activists.
"I can't and don't want to accommodate our naysayers who are demanding all information about my work and private programme. It's quite obvious that the opposition, the media, pass all the data about my movements and whereabouts to opposition activists so that they have the opportunity to disrupt the course of planned events or to shoot at me, as happened on May 15 last year in Handlova [Trencin region]," he stated.
The prime minister also spoke about the lies that have been spread about his private business trips. In this context, he said, he always informs his foreign counterparts about them and receives offers from them for informal private meetings. "For this purpose, our foreign partners provide transport logistics, security and venue for the meeting, which is regularly commercial in nature given the informality and privacy of the meeting. If there's a proposal on the table to make the meeting public, I respect it. If a partner wishes to keep an informal private meeting private, I'm bound by confidentiality," he added.
