Bratislava, January 8 (TASR) - MPs in the caucus of 'Slovakia', 'For the People' and Christian Union (KU) parties have their hands free when voting on some issues, especially ethical ones, in Parliament, caucus head Michal Sipos has said in an interview for TASR.
Sipos evaluates the cooperation between the parties in the caucus positively and hopes that it will continue. "From the position of caucus head I can state that relations are correct. Whenever it comes to negotiations or decision-making, the KU and 'For the People' parties, in my opinion, are a team within the caucus. We then try to coordinate our actions with each other," he said.
Sipos noted that situations in which an individual or a party has a different opinion occur in every caucus or collective, however. "Sometimes it happens that colleagues have a different opinion, especially on value-based or ethical issues. So, there we have our hands free when voting, it's a kind of free card when everyone can vote as they feel," he said.
Sipos also commented on potential cooperation with the 'Democrats' party. He regrets the fact that some of his colleagues quit the 'Slovakia' party. However, their relations are correct. He also laments the existence of two similar parties. "People who don't have time to go into full details might feel that there are similar parties here, even though it's true that Democrats is a more liberal party," he said. "If it's normal, honest and it's about the matter of fact, I think everyone should come together, as our main rival is the parties and politicians who are ruling here at the moment," stated Sipos.
