Bratislava, January 12 (TASR) - Last year, the most job opportunities were offered in retail, with nearly 60,000 ads posted on the Profesia.sk job website, representing a fifth of all listings, followed by over 41,000 jobs in manufacturing and more than 33,000 in transport and logistics, according to PR manager Lubica Melcerova from Alma Career Slovakia that runs the website.
On the other hand, the fewest job ads were posted last year in the fields of translation and interpreting, with fewer than 200 listings, followed by mining with 270 ads and over 320 offers in leasing. In total, 296,892 job offers were published on the website in 2024, marking the third-highest number of offers. However, the number decreased by 5.5 percent year-on-year.
"The average number of responses to a single job offer was 21, which is the highest in the website's history, except for 2020, which was significantly affected by the pandemic and a low number of listings. By comparison, in 2023, an average of 16 people responded to each ad," stated Melcerova.
Last year, the greatest interest from job seekers was in administration, with an average of 42 responses per offer, while the least interest, with an average of seven respondents, was for jobs in the electrical and energy sector.
The average offered salary on Profesia.sk last year was €1,490, an increase of €70 compared to the previous year, according to Melcerova. "The most attractive salaries were offered by companies for executive management positions, with an average of more than €2,400. The IT sector offered €200 less. Management positions offered just under €2,000 per month on average," she stated. On the other hand, the lowest salaries were offered in the textile industry, with an average just slightly above €1,000.
