Stats: Nominal Salaries Up Y-o-Y in All Sectors of Economy in November

Bratislava, January 13 (TASR) - Average nominal monthly salaries posted year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in all ten sectors monitored in November 2024, albeit with growth in most of them slower than previously, the Statistics Office has reported. In none of the monitored sectors did the y-o-y growth exceed 10 percent. Salaries grew the fastest in accommodation, by 9.6 percent, and in retail, with growth of 8.8 percent. Real salaries increased in seven of the ten sectors, ranging from 1.1 percent in information and communications to 6.2 percent in accommodation. Salaries also grew more significantly in retail, by above 5 percent. Y-o-y real salary decreases of up to 1.6 percent were felt by employees in wholesale, construction, and selected market services. In the first eleven months of 2024, nominal and real salaries grew in all ten monitored sectors. Nominal salaries in retail and in transport and warehousing grew by more than 9 percent. Growth in real salaries ranged between 1.5 percent in construction and in selected market services to 6.6 percent in retail. Salary increases of more than 6 percent were also observed in transport and warehousing. lin/df
