Bratislava, January 14 (TASR-correspondent) - Slovakia wants to continue in and deepen trade relations with Italy, Economy Minister Denisa Sakova (Voice-SD), who is accompanying President Peter Pellegrini on his official visit to Italy, said on Tuesday.
Sakova informed about the negotiations, where she and the delegation want to find new areas and opportunities for Slovak companies on the Italian market.
"We also have a business mission with us, which is meeting with the Italian Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday and Wednesday (January 15). We want to deepen and find new areas where we can apply Slovak companies on the Italian market and, on the other hand, bring Italian companies with their experience to Slovakia," Sakova told journalists.
The Slovak economy minister is also scheduled to discuss energy in Italy. In her words, Slovakia can provide its experience in the field of nuclear energy. "Italy will decide again in 2030 whether to go into nuclear energy," she noted.
Sakova is also due to talk about the automotive industry. She said that Italy is asking the European Commission for further steps in relation to the ban on the production of internal combustion engines. In her words, the Slovak Republic wants to join the initiative and demand that the impact on the automotive industry should be less than the European Union has set.
