KDH Expects Sasko to Implement Deal with LOZ

Bratislava, January 15 (TASR) - The opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) expect Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) to implement the deal reached with the Medical Trade Union (LOZ), including the decision to build a new national university hospital in Bratislava and to introduce systemic solutions for the outpatient sector, KDH MP Peter Stachura stated at a press conference on Wednesday. Stachura pointed out that Sasko hasn't managed to accomplish much in his first 100 days in the post, as he was busy dealing with mass resignations submitted by doctors. "Sasko hopped on a train already in motion and is attempting to put out the fires left behind by colleagues from the Smer-SD and Voice-SD parties," said Stachura. KDH expects Sasko to implement the deal with LOZ and make sure that doctors will continue to work as of March 1. The minister should also resolve the issue of the new university hospital in Bratislava, set up fair financing in the health-care sector and introduce systemic changes in the outpatient sector, particularly those concerning the availability of personnel and fees. The party criticised the fact that the ministry didn't submit an amendment to the Health Emergency Service Act to Parliament in December 2024. "It's a cardinal reform. I'm asking who will take the responsibility if this reform is not implemented. We're waiting for the minister; he said that this will happen at a session in February," said KDH MP Frantisek Majersky. mf/df
