Gov't: Recovery Plan Revision Will Modify Measures that Can No Longer Be Met

Bratislava, January 15 (TASR) - Slovakia will submit to the European Commission (EC) a draft revision of its Recovery and Resilience Plan, which will include adjustments to problematic measures, as some of the milestones and targets can't be met within the time and scope set, according to the proposal of Vice-Premier for the Recovery Plan and Knowledge Economy Peter Kmec (Voice-SD), approved by the government on Wednesday.
"We currently have 1.5 years of implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan remaining and we consider it responsible to be realistic in updating the milestones and targets where we foresee a problem in meeting them by August 31, 2026," said the submitter. As the fifth payment request also included a measure on land acquisition in national parks, which objectively could not be implemented in the time and to the extent foreseen, the draft revision needs to be submitted to the EC as soon as possible.
The released financial allocation from these unfeasible measures will be used to increase the objectives of the already existing measures or to implement new measures that will meet all the criteria. The revision of the risk measures will free up over €400 million for alternative measures.
