Taraba: €350 mn to Be Used from Modernisation Fund on Energy Production from RES

Bratislava, January 15 (TASR) - €350 million will be allocated from the Modernization Fund for the production of energy from renewable energy sources (RES), Environment Minister Tomas Taraba (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) stated on Wednesday, adding that the subsidy will be available to companies in the field of thermal energy, hydropower plants with an installed electrical capacity exceeding 10 megawatts (MW) and entities operating in the thermal energy sector, but it is not their main business. "We're launching a new call from the Modernisation Fund to support energy producers and large hydropower plants in modernising and using renewable energy sources. Each of the eligible and approved projects will be able to receive between €300,000 and €50 million, depending on the size of the beneficiary company and the type of activity for which it wishes to use the funds," said Taraba. am/mcs
