Opposition Party Leaders Condemn Student Attack at School in Spisska Stara Ves

Bratislava, January 16 (TASR) - The student attack at a grammar school in the town of Spisska Stara Ves in Presov region was condemned by opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS), Christian Democrats (KDH) and Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party leaders. PS leader Michal Simecka expressed his shock at the tragic attack. "I express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and their loved ones, and I hope the number of injured is as low as possible. Such horrific violence has no place in our society," he expressed in his statement. KDH is also deeply affected by the attack and expressed its sincere condolences to the families affected by the attack. "I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured. This incident has deeply affected us and serves as a reminder of the importance of safety in our schools. I'm on my way to Spisska Stara Ves, and as a region, we're ready to provide any assistance," said KDH leader Milan Majersky. SaS leader Branislav Groehling also expressed his condolences. "I'm thinking of everyone else at the school and I hope that there will be no more victims of this terrible tragedy," he stated on social media. Two people are reported dead after a knife attack at a secondary grammar school in the town of Spisska Stara Ves in Presov region. The Emergency Medical Service Operational Centre also confirmed that one patient is in critical condition. The number of other people injured hasn't been established yet. The police have already arrested an 18-year-old student suspected of committing the serious crime. lin/mcs
