KBS Head Expresses Spiritual Closeness Following Knife Attack in Presov Region

Bratislava, January 16 (TASR) - Slovak Bishops Conference (KBS) head and Kosice Metropolitan Archbishop Bernard Bober expressed his spiritual closeness after the attack in Spisska Stara Ves (Presov region), the KBS press office told TASR on Thursday, adding that Bober received with deep sorrow the news of the tragedy that struck the secondary grammar school.
"I express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the relatives who have lost their loved ones, while assuring all those affected of my prayers. In this moment of grief and pain, let's join together in asking for God's mercy and comfort for all those affected by this terrible act. May God's love and closeness give strength to those who suffer loss and healing to those who struggle to live," said Bober.
The archbishop also appeals for peace in hearts and relationships, stressing the need for mutual respect, esteem and protection of the sanctity of every human life.
"I encourage unity, compassion and solidarity in difficult moments that confront the whole of society with questions of values and security. May this tragedy awaken in each of us a deeper awareness of the importance of love and understanding, which can prevent violence and create a true community of peace," added the KBS head.
